Employment Service's Newest Program: Community Inclusion!

Community Inclusion services are personalized supports that enable individuals with developmental disabilities to engage in integrated, age-appropriate community activities alongside those without disabilities. These services are available to clients who have completed at least nine months of Individual Employment Services through the Developmental Disabilities Administration and can be used alongside Individualized Employment services.

CI services are guided by four key criteria:

  1. Activities must be individualized based on client interests.

  2. They occur in integrated settings with non-disabled community members.

  3. Experiences reflect those typical for people of similar age in the client’s community.

  4. Activities foster relationship-building and community contributions with non-paid individuals.

These services promote independence, meaningful participation, and stronger community connections, improving quality of life while fostering inclusivity.
